I have been playing darts since 2004. It all started when all of the snooker tables at Gladesville RSL were full on a Friday night. A group of us got the club darts from behind the bar and started throwing some brass bombers at the board.
It became a regular Friday Night with the beer flowing and usually followed at the end of the night with a round of Sambucca shots. (Sorry to all of those I tortured).
After playing for a while, we got pretty good and looked around for a place to play social and eventually competition darts. Balmain Darts were very welcoming and since 2004 I have met and made some great friends.
You may think that you are not good enough to play competition darts, but I can guarantee that it is not scary. Consider that when you are playing with your mates on a dart board set up in a garage or one that is nailed to a tree, you just want to beat your mates and have a social chat and a couple of drinks.
Balmain Darts will always welcome anyone who wants to have a go. We have Men and Women who all are at different levels of skill. Some become professionals, such as Simon Whitlock, and some just enjoy throwing a dart with mates.
I encourage all players in the Balmain & Districts Amateur Darts Association to write a short story to how they started playing darts like I have. We want to promote our association as well as the great game of darts.
If anyone is interested in joining our association, please go to the "Contact Us" page on this website and drop us a line or Email.
